Indifference

When a man falls,

it is not just his body that touches the ground.

It is the measure of the world that is revealed.

It is the trial of the human spirit.

But if no one reaches out a hand,

if no one lowers their gaze,

if everything remains as before,

then it is not him who has fallen —

it is humanity that has collapsed.

And the one who walks by,

the one who refuses to see,

becomes guilty —

guilty of a single crime:

the crime of indifference.

When a man falls

and finds no hand to support him,

then all of humanity falls with him.
